An MVHR installation to reduce over 2.1 tonnes of Co2 at GCP Architects

Overview

These two Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery units were installed in GCP Architect’s Bristol offices in the summer of 2021. 

UES were contracted to complete the works after GCP had received a West of England Green Business Grant. This grant was offered to help SMEs improve building efficiency and save money on energy bills. 

Installing two MVHR units (one in their head office and one in their board room) ensured a safe and welcoming environment for their staff to return to after the pandemic. A constant fresh air supply would improve the air quality for all staff and visitors. 

What was the solution?

UES seamlessly installed the units above the office ceiling panels – a considered approach was needed to avoid disturbing office operations. 

MVHR units are particularly heavy – installing them above valuable furniture and equipment added another layer of caution that our engineers handled safely and professionally.

What was the result?

The impact of the works has made a real difference for staff and visitors at GCP.

The installation has contributed towards a swift return to the office and filled the space with fresh air. Not only has the air quality improved but so has the well-being of the team.

The environmental impact of the project has been particularly rewarding – the units will save over 2.1 tonnes of Co2 annually and reduce the office energy demand by 25%.
