A boosted cold water set to improve irrigation at Chippenham CC

Overview

This Boosted Cold Water Set was installed at Chippenham Cricket Club in August 2022. The work was partially funded by a grant from the ECB to help upgrade facilities in and around the club. 

The current installation was not fit for purpose and caused unnecessary time delays and excess water usage. During the summer months Chippenham CC had suffered from the dramatic heat waves and desperately needed a solution. 

By increasing the water pressure, the irrigation equipment would be able to work at its design pressures and supply a larger coverage area. This would therefore increase irrigation time and reduce the long-term water consumption. 

 

What was the solution?

UES supplied, delivered, and installed a Boosted Cold Water Set in the existing plant room. 

The installation increased the pressure of the existing wicket bib tap connection by 3-4 Bar – a stark difference. 

After new pipework was fitted and the necessary power supplies installed, the installation was filled, tested, and set to work.
