After a year of hard work, reflection, and commitment, we’re delighted to announce that UES is officially B Corp Certified!
Becoming a B Corp isn’t just a certification; it’s a testament to our dedication to doing business with purpose. For those unfamiliar, B Corp certification is awarded to companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This means we’re legally committed to creating a positive impact for our shareholders and everyone we engage with: our employees, clients, communities, and, most importantly, the planet.
A significant part of this journey was highlighting our charity work, particularly over the last four years. We’ve raised over £24,000 for our partners, Community of Purpose and Sporting Family Change. They focus on providing life-changing opportunities for vulnerable young people. Supporting these organisations aligns perfectly with our goal of investing in the local community and helping to create brighter futures for the next generation.
Our environmental efforts were also key in achieving B Corp status. From expanding our EV fleet and installing a heat pump in the office to optimising vehicle tracking and implementing a solar PV system, we’ve made conscious steps to reduce our carbon footprint. We must practice what we preach, and upgrading to energy-efficient alternatives was a natural step in reducing our environmental impact.
It’s always been about delivering solutions that truly make a difference for our clients. This means thoroughly understanding their needs and only recommending renewable energy options if our projections show clear benefits. Post-installation, we closely monitor performance to ensure the long-term savings align with our promises. It’s not just about making greener choices—it’s about making smart, impactful ones that deliver results.
